Tesla Referral Code
I started playing tennis at age 69 and loved it so much, however, it was taking its toll on my feet (metatarsalgia) that after a year and a half, I switched to Pickleball. Much better!
For years I was Simply Wyse, but a dear friend told me I was a wise old owl after I gave her solicited advice and since I am old and "wyse" I bought a new domain name!
My journey with food has been just that ... a journey. Until recently, I struggled with binge eating though not to any extremes short of annoying me, but as I approached my seventies I realized my belly was telling me something. I was diagnosed with IBS years ago but when I removed some stresses from my life it went away. Stress is not my friend. Learning to manage it - or in some cases removing it - has made the biggest difference.
Now, at nearly 72, it was my physical therapist who figured out what was causing my stubborn belly fat. It was almost too simple! I told her I wanted to get rid of my belly fat and she poked and prodded and said, "that's not belly fat, that's inflammation." She said it so matter-of-factly, that I instantly felt relief. So, what's a lectin and what do I need to do about it. She explained lectins and how they can affect my body. We started slowly with removing nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, white potatoes, and eggplant). Within two days, I had lost 3 inches from my stubborn belly "fat". But, it didn't stop there.
What I do may not be for you and one certainly cannot discount genetics.
The Eating to Live recipe page and Other Recipes page on this website is an ongoing collection of recipes of all kinds. Use the search bar to locate a particular recipe or ingredient.
The most important part of a recipe is the quality of ingredients. Knowing where and how your food is grown is more important than anything in my opinion. Whenever possible, I use organic produce and grass-fed and grass-finished meats. See the links under Referral Codes for discounts.
I encourage anyone starting out with lifestyle changes to get moving!! I am an avid walker, Pickleball player and instructor, swimmer, grandmother to twelve and great-grandmother to five!
In the throes of my life - raising three kids of my own, and multiple stepchildren (whom I adore), I also drive a Tesla Model S 90D (my husband's car, technically). Owning a Tesla has, by far, been a dream come true!

STORY: I was approached by a woman who had been somewhat following me at Publix. At the register she was behind me and after looking at my cart, she asked, "how can you afford all that healthy food? It's so expensive!" I looked at her cart and pointed out what she had that I didn't ... soft drinks, bottled water, sports drinks, boxed cereal, frozen entrees, canned fruit, kid-friendly items in cute containers, beer, chips, cookies, and candy.
